- A coworker and I have recently experienced similar problems with our
- mice. Just wondering if anyone out there had a similar experience or had
- any info regarding it.
-
- Problem: Sometimes after lifting ones finger(s) off the mouse button,
- the system reacts as though it is still depressed. This despite the reassuring
- "click" of the button resuming it's undepressed position.
-
- I called our dealer, and the rep said his Mac at home was behaving similarly,
- and his Apple contact tells him they have had several reports, and are looking
- into a possible System 7.x software problem. Well, I tried switching mice, and
- viola, the problem moved from my machine to the other machine, so it looks
- more like a hardware problem to me. Interestingly, a quick survey shows that
- there are at least 3 different sources for the mice (based on the "Made in xxx"
- inscription on the bottom). Of all the mice among my coworkers, the ones
- made in USA and Taiwan appear to work fine. However, the only two that we
- have from Malaysia are both exhibiting the above problem. I wonder if that
- plant has some kind of manufacturing process problem. I haven't talked to my
- sales guy to find out where his mouse is from...
