- Last week I requested help in how to get my PB140 to behave properly when
- plugged in, i.e. it wasn't going to sleep when plugged in, but would
- when not plugged in. I had reinstalled the _Portable_ control panel
- and clicked _Dont sleep when plugged in_ until I was blue in the face.
-
- Someone responded with what turned out to be the Answer to *MY* problem.
- It is pretty obscure (I've been using MACs for 7 years and wasn't
- aware, but of course I rarely read the manuals as carefully as I should ;-)
- so I thought you'd be interested...
-
- *ANSWER*
-
- You might try zapping the PRAM (hold down command-option-p-r while starting up).
-
- Note that you will have to reset the date etc. after doing this.
-
- *END of ANSWER*
-
- I didn't have to fix the date. A problem with the appearance on one of my
- startup Icons was also fixed.
-
- Thanks to all that responded,
-
- chuck p.
