- I don't quite agree with you. Your SE/30 is the same speed as my IIcx.
- Yes, I'm quite happy with it too. But from the specs I've seen the
- IIsi, IIx, IIcx and SE/30 all run neck and neck. I'd also say the SE/30
- is more like the IIsi since they only have one slot. However the IIsi
- supports more monitors, can take NuBus cards (with an adaptor) and is
- new with a one year warranty.
-
- So if you figure he could get $600 to sell his SE the net cost would
- be something like:
-
- IIsi 4/40.................$1200
- 12" monochome screen........200
- keyboard.....................80
- from sale of SE 4/40.......(600)
- TOTAL......................$880
-
- I think that's a far better deal personally than pour $834 into an old
- computer, and you also get a 640x480 8-bit grayscale screen. To be
- completely fair you'd also have to add the cost of a year's AppleCare
- to the $830 so that the upgraded SE would be covered for a year like the
- new si. That's going to make the real cost of the upgrade more like $1000.
-
- Just my opinion...
