- A coworker of mine is involved in setting up a good system for
- photo-manipulation. He is planning on using Photoshop and is trying
- to decide what sort of hardware he needs to run it on. Being a Mac
- person who is not into DTP, I don't feel comfortable recommending
- things to him without at least some net help. He has already decided
- that he needs a Quadra 950 but is unsure about the video and memory
- needs of the system. He is willing to fork out the $ to get a 21"
- color monitor, but is unsure about any of the details.
- My questions:
- 1) Is the internal video on a 950 able to drive a 21" monitor
- to 24 bit color (w/2mb vram)? If so, which monitors (Apple, Nec, etc.?)
- 2) If not, is an accelerated video card necessary? Nec sells a
- non-accelerated card, but would it be fast? If a card is
- necessary (accelerated or not) for 24bit color, what do you
- recommend?
- 3) What is the best 21" Color monitor? He can get a good price on
- a Nec or on an Apple, what do you recommend?

- Email is fine but a posting will do as well. Thanks for any info!
