  16. My Apple 2 page monitor (w/Apple 16 color card) displays row after row of
  17. flashing pixels.  The problem looks the worse in 1 bit (2 color) mode and
  18. is only visible with certain shades in 4 bit (16 color) mode.  (I have no
  19. idea how to determine the actual shade - on some pictures or desktop
  20. patterns the problem is ALWAYS evident - on others it isn't)  The
  21. flashing pixels seem to be dependent on the color/shade being displayed. 
  22. The problem is readily apparent is 16 color mode when you try to select
  23. colors from the Color control panel's wheel.

  25. Apparently Apple is aware of this problem and is simply telling our
  26. support department to make the users use 4 bit (16 color mode) - this
  27. seems like a poor work around since I don't always want to use this mode
  28. and it still sometimes fails me.

  30. The support group buys into Apple's explanation  and says it is a
  31. SOFTWARE problem - "Just don't use 2 color/shade mode."  I say it is a
  32. HARDWARE problem and a very irritating one at that.
