- My Apple 2 page monitor (w/Apple 16 color card) displays row after row of
- flashing pixels. The problem looks the worse in 1 bit (2 color) mode and
- is only visible with certain shades in 4 bit (16 color) mode. (I have no
- idea how to determine the actual shade - on some pictures or desktop
- patterns the problem is ALWAYS evident - on others it isn't) The
- flashing pixels seem to be dependent on the color/shade being displayed.
- The problem is readily apparent is 16 color mode when you try to select
- colors from the Color control panel's wheel.
-
- Apparently Apple is aware of this problem and is simply telling our
- support department to make the users use 4 bit (16 color mode) - this
- seems like a poor work around since I don't always want to use this mode
- and it still sometimes fails me.
-
- The support group buys into Apple's explanation and says it is a
- SOFTWARE problem - "Just don't use 2 color/shade mode." I say it is a
- HARDWARE problem and a very irritating one at that.
-
- What's going on and what's the fix?
-
- Thanks in advance.
