  22. Just spoke with Educorp yesterday, it seems that the CD Technologies
  23. drive (which they're offering in a very nice $649 bundle since some
  24. compatibility problems with the NEC-37 and -74 drives came up) (you
  25. want more?: they seem not to work with some titles, notably Spaceship
  26. Warlock and <*gasp*> Virtual Valerie! -- but they're working on a fix
  27. right now) (uh, where was I?), oh yeah, the CD Tech drive _IS_ 
  28. Photo-CD compatible, and a good deal more reliable.  See MacWeek ad.

  30. Recall that this is second hand from a distributor, but that's what I
  31. heard!

  33. I'd like to hear any other comments on CD-ROM shopping, particularly:

  35. - is the speed of a drive likely to affect a Mac LC's ability to
  36.   do QuickTime well?  (or is the bottleneck in the LC?)
  37.   
  38. - is there a better encyclopedia than Grolier's Illustrated?
  39.  
  40. - is there a recent review of CD-ROM drives in the magazines?
  41.   (I'm sure I saw one, now I can't find it :-/)
