  13. I have not used the SUPRA, but have used various other FAX modems both on PCs 
  14. and MACS, and they work something like this.  The FAX software intercepts the 
  15. print command and writes out a file to disk.  It then dials the phone and 
  16. sends the data in that file to a fax machine. Effectively, this means you 
  17. have a printer in virtually every office in the world.  If you receive a fax, 
  18. you can save it as an image file and then send it through an OCR program - I 
  19. use OMNIPAGE.
