- Hi,
-
- I am trying to help my best friend install a new Quantum Prodrive
- 210S on his MAC II. He is actually replacing the orginal 40 MB
- 5-1/4" Quantum that came with the system. The new drive is jumpered
- for Drive 0 (no jumpers on A0, A1 and A2) and Parity Enabled (EP).
-
- Apple's HD formatting program (System 6.08) does not recognize the
- new drive as Drive 0 or an working external 60 MB "EasyDrive"
- as Drive 7; hence, will not format the new drive. The third party
- formatting software that came with the EasyDrive recognizes the
- new drive as Drive 0 and it appears to format it, but there are data
- errors when I try to copy between the external drive and the new
- internal drive.
-
- I probably have a classic terminating resistor problem, but I
- thought I could exchange one Quantum for another without having to
- change the terminating resistor configuration. The other
- possibility other than a new drive that is bad is the wrong
- formatting software.
-
- I would sincerely appreciate any help or suggestions by replying to
- "wdarden@nrtc.northrop.com" or "wdarden" (MCIMail).
-
- Thanks and regards,
-
- BiLL.....
