- When I got FileGuard a few weeks ago, I experienced a few weird effects:
-
- Superclock flickered constantly (so I removed it).
- Menus flickered while functions were selected (e.g. while doing a find
- next in ThinkC) instead of highlighting once, then dehighlighting.
- The screen-save option of FileGuard stopped working after a while.
-
- I was starting to get annoyed with FileGuard until I noticed that one of
- the other icons at startup was blacked out. It was the InUse CDEV (which
- puts up a flickering (aha) icon on the menu bar when the disk is in
- use). When I removed InUse, all the symtoms went away, and I could use
- SuperClock again (hurrah).
-
- Has anyone else seen this (or similar problems) with either FileGuard or
- InUse? I've started using DiskLight from Norton Utilities instead and it
- seems to work just fine.
-
- For completeness - I'm running System 7.0 with Tuneup 1.1.1 on a IIsi.
- Other extensions include Disinfectant, Gatekeeper and Gatekeeper Aid
- (better paranoid than sorry), Norton FileSaver, Think Back, Auspice (a
- calendar program), TrashAlias, PopChar, and Extensions Manager.
