- II FX SCSI PROBLEMS WITH DEVICE THAT WORKS WITH II SI
-
- The strange stories continue. I have a Xerox Scanner 7650 that used to
- work fine with a IIfx and a IIsi, but Xerox had shipped it with a frayed and
- tattered cable (How did they win the Baldridge Award, by buying it?)
-
- So the cable stopped working, and I got a new one from MacConnection.
- Interestingly, the cable and scanner work fine with the IIsi's SCSI port
- BUT the IIfx even fails to see the scanner connected. Trying to force it to
- mount or update said the SCSI chain was not terminated (even though this
- works fine with the IIsi).
-
- Could it be that good old Apple Computer has different (incompatible)
- types of SCSI ports on the II fx and si. (eg the modem ports on them are
- built differently a few weeks ago each of my WorldBlazer modems failed
- to work with the II sis while they worked with the II fxs. [Maybe Apple
- should also be getting a Baldridge Award ;-) ]
