  13. Howdy !  I was hoping that you might be able to answer some questions I have
  14. about unloading data from a backup tape to floppies.  My uncle owns a travel
  15. agency and utilizes name lists for fliers, mailings, etc..  The place he
  16. receives these lists from in Florida used to send the data via floppy disks;
  17. they are now going to send the data via tape and I need to give him advice on
  18. what to do next.  He informed me that the tape he will be receiving the data on
  19. is: 1/4" cartridge, 600' length, 12,500 ftpi, 550 HCI.  I spoke with a friend 
  20. of mine and showed him these specs - he had a SONY 1/4" cartridge tape that was
  21. 600' long and was 12,500 ftpi; however, it did not mention anything about 550
  22. HCI.  Also, something my friend mentioned to me was that I needed to know what
  23. type of software was used to create the tape since I would need to use the same
  24. software to unload the data to floppies.  I sincerely appreciate any replies
  25. I receive - answers to any of these questions or adding any other questions 
  26. that I should be asking would be helpful.  Unfortunately, I need to let my
  27. uncle know what to do/buy/etc.. before Friday (9/11) afternoon since he must 
  28. UPS some tapes to this information house in Florida later that day.  Thanks !!
