  11. Bacground Launcher for the PC?

  13. I am looking for a utility,commercial or shareware, the will 
  14. launch programs on a set schedule and will run in the 
  15. background.  I have looked at the cron like programs, but they 
  16. seem to require that the utility be in the forground to work.
  17. You cannot shell to DOS and have it still work.  They seem to 
  18. be designed more for unattended machines than ones that are 
  19. in use, which is what I am looking for.  I cannot use 
  20. a Windows product as the foreground program will not run in 
  21. Windows.
  22.     What I am trying to do is to automatically ftp download 
  23. data files in the background on a schedule while the forground 
  24. program continues.  Perhaps there is some sort of background 
  25. ftp product for the PC?  I appreciate any input.  Thanks
