- Include me in the group of highly satisfied Stacker customers (so far).
-
- I should mention an advantage that no one else has brought up:
-
- Stacker will effectively double the size of any disk caches or RAM disks
- you have (when reading/writing Stacker compressed files). So, I have a
- 1-1/2 MB disk cache and a 1/2 MB RAM disk, but their effective sizes are
- 3 MB and 1 MB respectively. It's like my 6 MB system really has 8 MB!
-
- The only other thing I can add to this discussion is to advise that you
- run SCHECK and, if you have it, Norton Disk Doctor (or a similar program)
- at every system boot (automatically, from AUTOEXEC.BAT of course). And do
- regular backups. It pays to be careful.
