- HELP! I am using Sytos Plus version 1.32 under DOS 5.0 with a
- Wangteck 5150 backup tape drive off of an ADAPTEC 1542B SCSI adapter.
- Well, more correctly, I am TRYING to use but the backup software
- really has left me quite aggravated. When the software starts backing
- up, it stops after about 22 files or about 293KB. Right now, it stops
- at the same file (syplus.exe) and locks. So I figured it may be the
- file so I excluded it from the backup. It freezes constantly after
- about 300KB has been backed up and I have to reboot (quite slow with
- AMI BIOS!). I have tried eliminating everything in the config.sys and
- autoexec.bat (except for aspi4dos.sys of course) but to no avail. I
- don't know what to try next. Can anyone please offer any
- suggestions!!?
-
- Here are my config.sys and autoexec.bat files:
- config.sys:
- DEVICE=C:\AHA\ASPI4DOS.SYS
- DEVICE=C:\AHA\ASPIDISK.SYS
- DEVICEHIGH=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
- DOS=HIGH,UMB
- STACKS=9,256
- DEVICEHIGH=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE
- SHELL=C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM C:\DOS\ /e:1536 /p
- FILES=40
- BUFFERS=40
- DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE /DOUBLE_BUFFER
- device=c:\utils\f-driver.sys
-
- autoexec.bat:
- @echo off
- C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE
- rem After Dark
- rem C:\WINDOWS\AD-DOS.COM
- C:\MOUSE\MOUSE
- prompt $p$g
- PATH c:\utils;c:\compress;C:\EXCEL;C:\PM4;C:\ALDUS;C:\DOS;C:\WINDOWS;C:\XTGOLD;C:\;C:\C700\BINB;C:\C700\BIN;C:\WINWORD
- SET LIB=C:\C700\LIB;
- SET INCLUDE=C:\C700\INCLUDE;
- SET HELPFILES=C:\C700\HELP\*.HLP
- SET INIT=C:\C700\INIT
- set TEMP=C:\C700\TEMP
- SET DSPADI=C:\ACAD11\FADI41.EXP
- SET DOSX=-CALLB 2
- C:\F1280\FSCAN -ON
-
- I'm thoroughly disgusted with this problem (either the tape drive or
- the software) and could really use some help.
-
- Thanks for any suggestions!
