- I'm looking for a utility that will (attempt to) repair a corrupted ZOO
- archive. I have a ZOO file that contains several ARCed text files (it's a
- long story...) but the first disk sector on which the ZOO originally resided
- went bad, and got filled with a random character on a subsequent copy. There
- is only one file I want to extract from the archive, and it begins well into
- the file. Hence it's fully intact, but I need to reconstruct the start of the
- ZOO so that the extractor won't choke on it. Help!
-
- Also, I'm looking for a DOS (non-Windows) screen saver that will properly
- restore to a 50-line VGA text screen when it exits. I'm running a terminal
- program (Telix) in 50-line mode, and all the screen savers I've tried so far
- (Explosive, Inner Mission, etc.) drop back into 25-line mode when a key is
- pressed, requiring me to manually set the terminal back into 50-line mode
- each time, and thereby cancelling the convenience of the screen saver in the
- first place. Switching to 50-line mode is no big deal with a simple BIOS
- call, but nobody seems to check for it.
-
- Any ideas, pointers, or hints on these topics would be gratefully accepted.
