- I have been trying to transfer files to and from Sun workstations on
- campus. I have a copy of Crosstalk for Windows v2.2. My problem is
- that the modem connection is 7 bits, so xmodem, ymodem, zmodem, etc.
- don't work. However, I can't seem to get Kermit to work under
- Crosstalk either.
-
- The problem seems to be that bad packets are not properly handled. In
- particular, bad packets get saved in the downloaded file -- the
- downloaded file ends up anywhere from a few hundred to ten thousand
- bytes larger than the source. Does anyone know how to fix this?
-
- Note: a few more details. My modem is a Gateway Telepath and I am
- connected at 9600 baud. At first I thought the modem might be the
- problem, but I can easily transfer files from Compuserve at high
- speed. Also, I tried winkermit and it transfers files okay, but
- slowly (I can't increase the packet size above 94).
