- My mother is having a problem printing from her 386 to her HP LaserJet
- III from WordPerfect 5.1 (well the latest WP; she's pretty sure it's
- 5.1).
-
- Although documents print fine, they have to wait up to 45 seconds
- after asking for the printout before anything will print. These are
- fairly simple, small documents (legal letters and notes, often only a
- page). The problem has gotten worse with time -- letters used to
- print quickly, but now take time before printing.
-
- Has this problem been noticed by anyone else? Any thoughts as to what
- the cause might be?
-
- Supposedly there have been some problems with the WP print drivers (my
- mom had to upgrade to the LaserJet III because she was told WP didn't
- work well with the II she had). Disk fragmentation was suggested by
- someone; but for small documents, shouldn't they be entirely in
- memory?
-
- Thanks for any help you can provide.
