- It has been noted recently in this group that Dell and Zeos now use 36 bit
- simms on some machines, instead of the old 72 bit simms. Why? Does a 36 bit
- simm have some advantage over a 72 bit simm that justifies cluttering up
- the marketplace with another technical detail to keep track of when ordering
- equipment. I was always taught that the development of interchangable parts
- was major advance in the industrial revolution. It appears high-tech firms
- today have forgotten this lesson.
