  14. Here's an odd one:

  16. I have an 80 Meg Connor (sez type 27) drive.  I forget the model number, 
  17. but it's an IDE 1" height drive.

  19. I've determined that the geometry works as 833 x 6 x 33.  At least I get 
  20. no errors when I use these settings.

  22. The problem comes when I run FDISK.  I make a partition, exit FDISK, and
  23. try to FORMAT the drive.  "Invalid drive specification".  Go back in with
  24. FDISK, enter "4" (display partition info), and there is no partition.
  25.  
  26. Can do it as many times as I like, but the partition does not stay.  No error
  27. messages from FDISK.  I tried using Disk Manager to partition it also.  
  28. Basically the same thing happened.  I used DM to Verify the surface (not
  29. initialize), and it came out 100% ok.  No errors.

  31. Anyone know what's going on?  Also, the PC is a 286/20 with AMI BIOS dated 
  32. about 1989.
