  17. there should be bidirectional parallel ports on the market, at least in
  18. some laptops.
  19. Pocket ethernet adaptors work faster if you have a bidirectional port.
  20. Otherwise they perform like 4 bit adaptors (the 4 status bits!).
  21. D-LINK has a test program on their disk that tells you if your computers
  22. parallel port is bidirectional.
  23. My Toshiba T5100 laptop has NO bidirectional port and until now I have not
  24. seen any on another computer...
