- It works all right. But you've got to be sure to change the interleave on the
- XT hard drive or the data transfer rate will be crippled.

- For example, on an XT the optimum interleave is usually 3 or 4 (about
- 170K/sec). But on an AT motherboard (with it's timing and bus clock
- differences), the same interleave (with an XT controller) would result in
- a drop to about 25K/sec. The optimum interleave for an XT controller in
- an AT is usually 5 or 6 (which does give slower transfer rates (about
- 110K/sec), but considerably better than 25K/sec.

- Often as not it's cheaper to buy a fast 1:1 AT controller to use with the XT
- hard drive (mfm would get about 400K/sec avg througput, rll would get about
- 660K/sec avg throughput). Of course, you'd have to reformat the drives
- low-level...
