- I have an Orchid Fahrenheit 1280 card. It does 1280x960x16 colors in
- interlaced mode. I'm using it with a Sony Multiscan HG monitor.

- The combination of interlace and the reduction in colors bothers me enough
- that I never use 1280x960 mode, and I stick with 1024x768x256 colors. It's
- certainly not unusable in the higher res mode, but I do notice some flicker
- and a lot more eye strain.

- I've read that there are several new S3 chips coming out soon, at least
- one of which is supposed to handle a lot more than 1MB of memory, and which
- should deal with higher resolution better.
