-
- Local bus - a high speed expansion bus which runs at the full processor
- speed. This is seperat from the normal PC bus which is the same speed
- on all machines.
-
- Cache - small high speed memory used to hold frequently accessed data.
- Having a cache speeds up the computer, but is otherwise invisible to you.
-
- EISA is an 32 bit expansion bus. This is a super-set of the 16 bit ISA bus
- found in most PCs. Normal 8 bit and 16 bit cards will work in a EISA
- machine as well as EISA 32 bit cards.
-
- >2) I am planning to buy a NEC 17" 5FG color monitor so what do I need
- >to speed up the graphics?
-
- Graphics speed will depend on the vidio card, not the monitor.
-
- >3) Does any 486/50 mhz will compatible with that monitor? e.g Zeos,
- >Dell, Gateway2000?
-
- No problem.
-
- >4) what's a graphic board and what's a video board?
-
- They are the same thing. You need a card to generate the vidio signal
- to the monitor. A few mothewrboars have the vidio built in, but most
- require a seperate card which plugs into the PC bus.
-
- >5) What's a good, fast reliable for a 9600bps or abover modem?
-
- I'm not a modem expert.
-
- >6Does a math coprocessor will speed up graphic or window applications?
-
- It depends on the application. You would have to read the documentation
- for any application you wanted to use.
