- Hello netters,
-
- I am faced with a quandry. I have a 486-33dx system with 4 megs of
- RAM. I want to upgrade the RAM to run OS/2 2.0. My system has
- two banks of four SIMM slots each. Presently, it has 4 1 meg SIMM's
- in the first bank, and the second bank is empty. My machine can only
- use 4 meg, 1 meg, or 256k SIMMS, and it can't mix them.
-
- I would like to get 4 4meg SIMMS and sell the ones I have currently.
- But I don't think I have the money.
-
- I will probably just get 4 1meg SIMMS for the second bank, bringing
- my memory up to 8 megs of RAM. This will waste the 8 megs in the
- future if I want to upgrade to 16 (unless I can sell the 8 megs), but
- I don't have a choice.
-
- First, could I sell my 8 megs in the future? Does this happen?
-
- Also, where can I find good, cheap 70ns 1x9 meg SIMMS? Currently,
- the best I have seen is $38 per SIMM.
-
- Thanks,
-
