- The UART on PS/2 Model 80 computers is integrated into a VLSI chip so it
- is not user-replaceable.

- There are four different UART types used on the PS/2 Model 80. You can
- tell which type is used by the part number of the computer (8580-xxx):

- NS16550 (FIFO mode not normally enabled)

- NS16550AFVV (supports DMA transfers)
