- You need to use the serial cable that connected your ImageWriter
- to its old Mac. This will have (I think) a 25pin D-plug on the end.
- Somehow, this needs to plug into your 386's serial port - probably
- you'll need to buy an adapter that allows your 386's 15pin D-plug
- to mate with the Apple 25pin plug (from Tandy-like electronics
- shop??). Murphy's Law will almost certainly hold here and you
- will get a connecter who's plug/s is/are the wrong gender - take
- the Apple cable with you.
-
- You will also (probably?) need to have pins 2 and 3 'swapped'
- between the 386 and ImageWriter.....
-
- Eventually you'll get there (I did) and you'll need to use
- Win3.1's C-Itoh 8510 printer driver on Com1. Make sure your
- serial port setup in Win3.1 corresponds to the dip switches
- in the ImageWriter (I use 2400 baud, no parity, 8 bits, I stop
- bit with no flow control) and all works OK. Use Win's TT fonts.
-
- Frustrating, eh?
-
- Good luck...
