  21. What shell are you using?  Type "telnet".  Hit your backspace key.
  22. See if you have any problems there.

  24. Odds are, you're sending the "wrong" backspace, and using a
  25. "sophisticated shell" (bash, tcsh, zsh, etc.) that doesn't care.
  26. If so, twiddle with your "stty erase" settings until you get something
  27. workable (if it's ^H, make it ^?, and vice versa, etc.).
