- What shell are you using? Type "telnet". Hit your backspace key.
- See if you have any problems there.

- Odds are, you're sending the "wrong" backspace, and using a
- "sophisticated shell" (bash, tcsh, zsh, etc.) that doesn't care.
- If so, twiddle with your "stty erase" settings until you get something
- workable (if it's ^H, make it ^?, and vice versa, etc.).
