  24. /usr/preserve is where vi and ex saves files when they are exited in
  25. an ungraceful manner. These are the files you see when you do 'vi -r'.

  27. Check who owns these files, and ask the owner to do 'vi -r' to see
  28. if he want's them back. If he doesn't, just remove them.
