I would like to start up X-window at a local 486 PC from any unix
system through 9600 or above modem.

I know that it requires SLIP driver at both side. We can get SLIP
driver for SUN from anonymous ftp but I want to start up the X-window
from DEC Ultrix. I heard that DEC does have SLIP driver ( slattach(8c),
sliphosts) but I cannot find them at our site. Do you know where I
can get it? Could you tell me the ftp site?


I know that the SCO unix does have the SLIP driver but I don't want to
install the SCO unix on my PC as the SCO unix is quite bulky (~200M).
Our department has DEC PCSA service. We can startup the DECwindow
(dwdos286, dwdos386) at a PC through the ethernet. The DEC PCSA is
small as it only eats up ~10M. I wonder if there is any SLIP driver for
PC which can work with the DEC PCSA.


Does SLIP driver at DEC and PC can work well with the modem? Do we
need another driver to deal with the interface between Modem and SLIP?
