- Our group recently bought a DECstation 5000/Model 240 and I'm currently
- shopping around for some more 8MB RAM modules and a backup storage device for
- its 1GB RZ57. At the moment, I'm looking at a 4mm DAT device called
- Archive Python and have no clue as to where to start with 3rd party memory
- distributors. I'm trying to keep the price for all this at around $2K
- and since the DEC quoted prices for their items still seemed relatively
- high even with their educational discount, I'm attempting to figure out
- which cheap 3rd party devices are reliable and fully compatible, i.e.
- are device drivers available, etc.
- If anyone has had any previous experience with this, I'd appreciate it
- if he or she could e-mail me (ddlee@athena.mit.edu). Any info would help.
- Thanks a lot.
