- SCMS is designed to allow exactly one digital copy. The copy cannot be
- further duplicated digitally. Pro DAT players do not have SCMS, and
- a box to defeat the system is available quite cheaply. Some domestic DAT
- machines will not record digitally at 44.1kHz, to prevent digital pirating
- of CDs.
