- I was recently visiting a local computer store that had Mac and PC
- software. I was struck by the number of titles for both and the low
- prices for the PC software. The prices for the PC software were not
- different from the prices for the ST software.
-
- I also recently downloaded Castle Wolfenstein 3-D from GEnie. The 3-D
- real-time graphics in this game make Dungeon Master look silly. I had a
- problem clearing memory in my girlfriend's PC, because Wolfenstein took
- almost 600 K (out of 640K). The program was running on a '386.
-
- My point is that the Atari can't stand on software (obviously) or even
- architecture anymore. 1985 was a good year since the ST blew away
- any 8086 machine, but now everyone has a '386 in the PC arena, but most
- Atari users are still using a 68000 at 8 mhtz.
-
- The Falcon in not going to put Atari in the same position as the ST did
- seven years ago. That chance is lost. If many sell AND the DSP is used
- effectively we could have a popular machine again.

- OK. If this applies to us, maybe we can feel better about it. I just
- hope the $799 I spend won't be in vain.
