  19. I had similar problems when I tried to dump it. Sometimes I'd get it to find 
  20. loadup.el, but it would then fail to find an (apparently) random file later on.
  21. In the end I got round this by using a different shell (the somewhat brain-dead
  22. Batcher (no offence Hisoft, the rest of the packages is superb) that comes with
  23. Lattice C). Even dumping manually didn't seem to help. It looks as though (at
  24. a guess) the dumping code in Emacs itself is broken, possibly its trampling
  25. on the environment at some point, or possibly just overwriting its local copy
  26. of where the lisp files are stored.
