- It all depends on what you mean by superior. Even ignoring the issues of
- hardware capabilities and software availability, there's aesthetics to
- consider. Without looking at any other features, I know that I don't want
- a Falcon because of its "everything in one unit" design. I used a 1040
- for a couple of years, and I hated the fact that it cluttered my desk with
- cables, was difficult to move around to type at different angles because
- of those same cables, that I needed something else to prop my monitor
- on to get it above the computer, and that the keyboard just plain sucked.
- Sure, they made it all in one because it kept the cost down. Too bad; I
- don't care how inexpensive something is if it's aggravating to work with.
-
- If I didn't have my Mega, with the separate keyboard (and a tactile feel
- that's orders of magnitude better than the 1040) and the main unit which
- let's me throw all of the cables behind my desk, I wouldn't even have an
- ST now.

-
- Not me. Barring unforseen circumstances, I don't expect I will ever buy
- another Atari computer. I am comfortable with my current system (thanks
- to MiNT), but there have been too many times that software was available
- for most other systems that didn't exist for the ST (e.g. raytracers and
- _good_ word processors, both of which are now available for the ST).
