- Isn't this what Chuck Steinman of Dataque was going to do, but with
- a 65816? This would be a really neat project, if we could get the
- circuit boards printed up. I have an extra 800xl with all the chips
- socketed, so it would be really easy to transplant the chips. While you
- are at it, might as well use a 65802 (65c02 pin-compatible).
-
- I guess it was economically feasible for Dataque to produce their
- own next generation XE. (But I do see some sort of market for a <$150
- home computer, with diskdrive.)
-
- Has anybody thought of what could be done if you added a second
- GTIA? (I read that this is what the 7800 uses for graphics.)
-
- What is the cost to have circuit boards made nowadays?

- I don't understand why they haven't released a lot of things now
- that they don't support the 8-bits anymore. Interesting note though, in
- the latest Atari Explorer Online, they said they sold the remaining
- 8-bits, 2600, and 7800 overseas and in South America.
