- Hi Matt,
-
- ╗Did your '030 friend have any problems with jerkiness. I have a 3000 but
- ╗RTAP seems to jerk no matter what I try. I have seen other people write
- ╗to the net with similar problems. What is the lastest version of RTAP.
- ╗I can't remember what version mine is.
-
- He had no problem even with a small RAM buffer... BUT he has a 2000 w/ '030
- accelerator that flies, 7Mb RAM and nice big HD!
-
- When I used RTap, I had to find an `optimum' between frame rate and decrunch
- priority. I suspect the latter is the most important. Find out what priority
- the device controlling your HD is running - you are best using a priority
- the same or +/- 1 from this value...
-
- Adjusting the PRIORITY seemed to have more effect immediately than adjusting
- the RELTIME framerate. You do need be able to both load data and decrunch
- at about the same priority so one of the functions doesn't hold up the other!
-
- As a good start tip anyway, define a BUFFER size as large as you can get
- away with too. I use 1500/1600k typically on my 2Mb system.
-
- Good luck!
-
- BTW - my RTap is a pretty low version number...
