- I'm having a problem with my new Syquest 88mb removeable media HD and
- my 3000. I checked SCSI termination and the Syquest is terminated as
- is the last internal hard drive... I tried it with the stock vanilla
- 2.04 disks as well as my standard startup and the smae result happens,
- somewhere along the line the machine just hangs... Once it even got so
- far as to load workbench and then crashed before finishing the rest of
- my startup-sequence... :( Any suggestions? (according to the sticker
- on the daughterboard it is a revision 6.1, dunno about any stickers on
- the motherboard since it is such a pain to open) It is a 3000-16 with
- two Quantum drives mounter internally...
- Thanks!

- Here are a few things to check out.
- 1. Does the 3000 boot and run OK if the Syquest is disconnected?
-
- 2. Does the behavior change depending on whether a cartridge is loaded
- or not loaded? I boot mine without a cartridge and it takes about
- two minutes, with SCSI polling causing most of that delay. With
- a cartridge loaded, it boots in about 30 seconds or less.
-
- 3. Check that partity checking is the same on all SCSI devices.
