- The mode set by the ROM *does* utilize the SCRAM chips, just not the PAGE
- mode. It is PAGE MODE that does not work with DMA from the SCSI hardware.

- Using what terminology? The mode set by the OS sets the *right* mode for
- overall best performance. It just so happens that because this was the best
- mode that we did not notice that one of the other modes was so broken.

- So, just let the OS set the mode. It will set the mode that is fastest for
- the "normal" case. Note that some test programs may show up faster in some
- modes but this is not "normal" operation.

- There is a problem with DMAC and it is not just older machines but depends on
- just how the timing works out. One of the signals to the RAMs when using
- DMAC are just out of spec and may or may not work.
