  27.   Actually, there is not much difference between the A3000 and A4000.

  30.   The datapath (BUS) to the ECS chipset on an A3000 is indeed 32bit.
  31.   However, the sockets for the ECS chips are 16bit.  You cannot plug
  32.   a 32bit chip in a 16bit socket.  Because of the shape/size/amount
  33.   of the new chips, it is impossilbe to replace the sockets.  It just
  34.   isn't possilbe physically.

  36.   I suppose that some hack could be introduced on a daughterboard, but
  37.   this is highly unlikely.  Developers have had AA machines for a while
  38.   now, but no 3rd party upgrade board (like megachip or something) was
  39.   shown at WOC.  Surely 3rd party companies no how bad A3000 owners
  40.   want AGA.  That's why people bought A3000 instead of A2500.
