  14. I need to communicate with our main frame computer on a application to 
  15. application basis.  It seems that LU6.2 and APPC would fit the bill
  16. perfectly but the powers to be don't think so. Therefore my boss wants
  17. some testimonials to success stories.

  19. We would be connecting to a SUN network using SUN's APPC software and
  20. SUN's HSI/S hardware. The mainframe application program would probably
  21. run under IMS but we would like to have the flexibility to use anything,
  22. including coding our own VTAM macros in an application program.

  24. Like I say, those administering the IBM mainframe computer want nothing to
  25. do with this and I know that we need their support for the VTAM def's
  26. and NCP gens and that sort of stuff.

  28. If anyone has any experiences, good or bad, with this sort of thing, I
  29. would appreciate hearing about it.
