- I am having trouble installing OS/2 on my 486/33. This
- is what happens: After getting past disk 6 (with 5 1/4
- diskettes) it tells me to reboot, but when it reboots to go
- into the graphical installation step, it simply spews
- out random characters and beeps and doesn't stop.
-
- Here are some specs:
- Conner IDE hard drive
- no-name 486/33 with AMI bios dated 7/7/91
- 8 mb RAM
- no-name Tseng ET4000 video card
-
- I've spoken with IBM several times, first they said put the
- video card into an 8-bit slot and disable auto-sensing, which
- I did with no success. Then I called them back and they then
- decided the problem was *not* with the video card. They said they'd
- call me back, which they did, then saying they were sending out
- fixes for the video card. Hmm! I would appreciate any help
- with this problem.
