  14. In the near future I'll probably be looking into getting a CD-ROM drive
  15. which I'll be hooking up through a new SCSI board.  I'd like to get the
  16. best combination that will work under both OS/2 and DOS.  I'm not really
  17. all that up on this stuff and from postings I've scanned on these topics
  18. installing SCSI and CD-ROMs seems like it can be fraught with difficulties --
  19. particularly depending on other devices already installed.

  21. So, I'm asking the net for any brandname recommendations for a SCSI-CDROM
  22. setup.  Also, with all the junk I've already got stuffed in the box, will
  23. I have any problems?  My system is as follows:

  25. 486-33 Local Bus (ET4000)
  26. 16 Meg RAM
  27. 2 IDE Drives: 120 Meg (Bootmanager, C: FAT DOS Boot primary, E: HPFS, F: HPFS)
  28.           200 Meg (D: FAT primary)
  29. Soundblaster (uses IRQ7 - I don't have a printer)
  30. MPU401 board (uses IRQ5)

  32. I'm particularly concerned about having 2 IDE's with SCSI (seems like some
  33. other people had problems with this), and I've got a couple of boards that
  34. already use IRQ's 5 and 7.
