- I need a fast reply on this one desperatly!!! Today I went to get
- a new harddisk (or rather a new system with one), the harddisk is
- some unknown brand known as BT BRAND and is my worst nightmare.
- I moved it to my OS/2 system and tried to install it but OS/2 wont
- even recognise it. FDisk failes and from the OS/2 prompt I can't even
- see it. It has the following characteristics:
-
- 777 cylinders
- 14 heads
- 36 sectors/track
-
- average seek 12 ms (quite good I though)
- track to track seek 3ms (not to good I thought then)
- 500k/s transfer rate (bloody useless I shout)
-
- I could live with those figures but I would rather like to use it
- at all with OS/2. Since it IS recognised by DOS I am rather at a loss
- what is wrong here.
- Before anyone shoots off, I checked the controller, it is setup fine,
- I tried the CMOS settings, fine again, cables ok, in fact everything
- is working fine under DOS, but not OS/2!!! Incedently, I am rather
- pissed so excuse my loud typing.
-
- If someone knows what to do please let me know immediatly before I
- go kill the vendor tomorrow.
-
- Thanks for listening
- Erik
