- I did a DIR in the root of my HPFS drive and found to my surprise
- that some subdirectories have positive numbers on the first
- column to the left (this is usually 0 for both files and dirs).
- This column is just next to the filename.

- What does this mean? Incidentally, I saw a CMD file in one of
- the subdirectories that has a large (40000+) number in the first
- column (it is about 32k in size, as indicated by the second columni).
