- I did not make a very clear point in readme1.doc. ispell.el is straight from
- the Unix distribution, and I have made no modifications to it. I don't use
- emacs, but I thought that this file might be helpful to emacs users. If you
- want to use it, you will have to go in and convert all the Unix-isms to
- something that will work under OS/2. Those references to 'egrep' and 'look'
- probably need to be dealt with.
-
- I am emacs ignorant; if somebody wants to fix isepll.el to work under the OS/2
- versions of emacs, please do so and send my a copy. I will include this fix in
- the next release.
-
- There are some bugs in readme1.doc (as well as some nasty grammatical
- mistakes):
-
- 1) You must set the TERM environment variable. readme1.doc says this is
- optional.
-
- 2) To function properly, the temporary filename template cannot contain an
- extension. The 'XXXXXX' should be the last part of the filename.
-
- 3) Disregard the babbling about loading ansi.sys. ANSI support is the default
- for OS/2 2.0 command prompts. Type 'ANSI' at the OS/2 command prompt to see
- the status of ANSI screen support. If it is not on, type 'ANSI ON' at the
- command prompt, although it seems that Ispell automatically enables ANSI
- support.
-
- There is a program bug concenring the default filenames. For now, if you
- define all the keywords in ispell.cfg, things will work fine.
-
- I plan to upload another distribution in the next couple of days that fixes
- these problems. I apologize for any inconvenience I have caused.
-
- Send all Ispell bugs/comments/suggestions to jbhuber@iastate.edu
