  12. First of all, the following suggestions have not been tested.  I will not
  13. be able to test them myself until next week.

  15. Backing up the Workplace Shell:

  17. The new 32 bit zip and unzip from InfoZip not only store/retrieve EA's,
  18. but also empty directories (plus their EA's).  This I have tested.
  19. Why not have a 'call=...' line in the config.sys to backup the *.ini
  20. files and the 'OS!2 Desktop' directory.  I don't now right now if zip
  21. has the ability to keep multiple backups of the same file, like zoo
  22. does, but I'm sure that there is a way around that.

  26. There was recently a thread about using gtar (GTAK100.ZOO from hobbes)
  27. with the -S option to backup to floppy.  People were also complaining
  28. that this would not work with the option to compress the files.
  29. Why not pipe the output of the new 32 zip into gtar.  Will this work?

  31. Finally, I have a question.  If I were to make a backup of all the files
  32. on my hard disk, including system and hidden files, and then I reformatted
  33. my hard disk, what else is needed, other than an exact copy of each file,
  34. to make the system bootable again?
