- Well, I did this and it works pretty good in some programs such as
- Q-Modem. Q-Modem actually accesses 50 lines of data in the windowed dos
- box and even when in full screen dos mode.
-
- But, when trying to use a dos box for pure dos, the trouble begins. DOS
- only wants to allow 25 lines no matter what. I've played around with the
- mode con: lines=50 setting but this only does what the screenlines=50
- command does in windows. DOS still will only display 25 lines of a dir
- command at a time. Many programs override this limitation: "list" for one
- will display 50 lines.
-
- Can DOS be so crippled in this regard. It doesn't seem like it should as
- it does allow for 50 lines via mode. (BTW, mode is a lousy way to do it
- since ansi.sys is required and this slows down the screen display a lot.
-
- Any ideas?
