- A good rule of thumb is not to rely on any hardware (particularly SCSI
- controllers) that is not on the supported hardware list, unless you have
- a good reason to believe it works.

- In general, if your SCSI controller is supported and your CD-Rom is SCSI-II
- compatible, you should be kosher. Of course this is not always true, and
- you don't always need a SCSI-II compatible CD-ROM.

- As stated in the release notes the 24F will work if you run it in the ISA
- compatibility mode (WD1003 compatible.) Of course then Windows NT sees it
- as a WD1003 hard drive, not as a SCSI controller (this means it will not
- see any attached CD-ROMS)

- I'd plan on losing data, and maybe you'd be pleasantly suprised. There
- are many controllers out there, and many mapping schemes, so I'd be
- suprised if you did not need to reformat, but it could happen.

-
- As I recall, it's that multiple SCSI controllers have not been tested.
- There have been reports on CIS that multiple SCSI controllers work. But
- you will then be in the unfortunate position of a non-supported
- configuration.
