- You are almost right. What the original poster has found is Windows
- "permanent" swapfile. This is the only swapfile that is hidden. If you
- use a "temporary" swapfile then you can see the swapfile name in the
- root directory of the drive you specified. I believe it has a .swp
- extension. A permanent swap file is always on your hard disk and insures
- that Windows will always have this amount of swap space on your disk. A
- temporary swap file is created when you start Windows and removed by Windows
- when you exit Windows. If you reboot in the middle of Windows (or your
- machine goes south for some reason (-8 ) then you can see the temporary
- swap file using the DOS "dir" command.
