  16. A small misunderstanding here.  UMB_DRVR does _not_ replace SMARTDRV -
  17. it replaces EMM386 and similar programs which provide _UMBs_ (Upper
  18. Memory Blocks).  It is not a disk cache. (Nor does the plain UMB_DRVR
  19. provide EMS - with release 5.22 there is a separate driver, UMB_EMS, for
  20. this purpose.)

  27. The latest release (to my knowledge) is 5.22, and its docs still say
  28. "maybe" for micronics.  The author doesn't have technical data on
  29. micronics chips, and so can not do anything about them.

  31. With 5.22 there is a "user-configured" mode, and if you know what these
  32. UMBs are and what to do with your MMU, you might get it to operate even
  33. though it doesn't have micronics support per se.
